    Event Description:
COME JOIN US FOR A COMMUNITY KICK-OFF EVENT: Building a Community to Conquer Opioid Addiction Featured Speaker: Alexis Johnson Alexis Johnson, 35, born and raised in Archbald, PA does not seem much different from most of us. What we don’t see from talking with her is that Alexis experienced seven major overdoses, has been administered Narcan twice and has spent time in prison on seven different occasions. Alexis’ addiction began with alcohol in college and after a car accident in 2008, she became addicted to opioids which later led to relying on a 50 bag of heroin a day habit. Alexis has recently approached twenty-eight months sobriety and does anti-addiction advocacy, as well as modeling and bodybuilding. She is also a finance manager for Brenner Nissan, in Mechanicsburg. Judge Joseph Sklarosky, Luzerne County Drug Treatment Court, will discuss the history & legal aspects of The Treatment Court model followed by a panel discussion and Q&A.
