February 22, 2019 KEYSTONE COLLEGE STUDENTS PLAN SIXTH ANNUAL “CUPCAKE CHALLENGE” La Plume –The Keystone College Hospitality Club will host the sixth annual “Cupcake Challenge” on Tuesday, March 5 from 5-7 p.m. in Evans Hall in the Hibbard Campus Center. Proceeds will benefit the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. Participants will sample cupcakes from local bakers and vote for their favorite choice to determine the best area cupcake. Participants can sample six cupcakes for $10, and $2 for each additional cupcake. Raffle prizes will also be awarded. The event, which is open to the public, will feature cupcakes from local bakeries, restaurants, caterers and amateur bakers including: Alyssa Clarkson, Montrose; Antonio’s Bakery by Sisile; Biggie & Small; Billie Wech and Rachel Knowlton, Greenfield Twp.; Cangiano’s, Dickson City; Cherie Cobb Peoples, Dalton; Hilton Scranton and Conference Center, Scranton; Keystone Konfections Bakery, Tunkhannock; Lauren Deily, Scranton; Gigi Gower and Gigi Bullick, G-Squared; The Leo’s; McQuades Desserts, Jermyn; Nibbles & Bits, Dunmore; Nicole’s Desserts; Market Street Bar & Grill, Scranton; Anneliese Waibel, Rad Shamrocks; Charlotte Rozenberg; Sherry’s Creations, Scott Twp.; Sodexo, Keystone College; The Barking Cupcake, Forest City; Sharon Croney, Lodge at Woodloch,; Annaliese Waibel and 2 Girls and a Cupcake. Judges for the event include the Wegmans Bakery Department, Dickson City; The Electric City Bakehouse owner Michelle Caddon, Scranton; Personalized Cakes owner Nellie Marnarchuck, Carbondale; and Culinary Instructor David Joyce, Wilkes-Barre Area Career & Technical Center. Due to construction of the Keystone Commons development complex on campus, the main parking lot on College Avenue is closed. Guests are advised to follow instructions of parking attendants directing traffic and posted signage. A free shuttle service will be available to transport guests to the event.
